We planned our wedding to be held in York on May 2018 from our home in Warwickshire. Having Sharon was a great asset from the very beginning of the initial planning, right through until the special day........
Venue and decor
Sharon visited reception venues on our behalf, sending us virtual tours. She was even able to suggest locations we had not thought of. On seeing the footage we knew immediately that Poppleton Tithe Barn was the place for our reception. The beautiful barn offered a blank canvas... lots of options but where to start?!
We had clear ideas of what we didn't want but found it difficult to be specific about what styling we did want! We gave Sharon our brief; intimate, down to earth, fun and perhaps a nod to our active outdoorsy lifestyle.
Sharon helped us navigate wedding shows and create different mood boards. She was somehow able to make sense of the array of pictures and ideas arising from these, and then injected her own creative vision and style to generate the overall theme for the day.
Together we chose flowers for the bouquets and button holes. In the days preceding the wedding, Sharon guided some of the girls from the wedding party to create table runners and decorations for the pew ends in the Chapel that would match the flowers.
Sharon set up all the decorations in the barn, and lots of little extras including bike wheels decorated with foliage and flowers as a novel way of presenting the seating plan. Sharon went above and beyond the call of duty when she remained in the barn the evening before the wedding to add special touches we wouldn’t have even considered but which certainly gave all guests - and us! - the wow factor when they walked into the barn the following day. Sharon even spruced up a rickshaw that had been hired as a surprise for the bike-mad groom which resulted in some fantastic memories and photos from the day.
Dress and style
Time for the bride and groom to get out of the outdoorsy gear, but some help was required to select the perfect outfits for the wedding party. Sharon’s creative vision is not just about décor; her background in fashion and make-up means that her flair also extends to making sure the bride and groom look stunning from head to toe! In no time at all outfits were chosen and her guidance made sure they made the bride and groom the real stars of the show!
Timings
With a clear knowledge of the venues and a great rapport with the local vintage campervan hire, Sharon was able to help with the timings for the day to make sure everyone was in the right place at the right time. Much easier said than done but with her master plan in place, everything went smoothly throughout the day.
Overall
Sharon has a wealth of constructive ideas and bucket loads of enthusiasm. Whatever you are looking to achieve, Sharon really listens and has an innate ability and talent to understand exactly what you want and and make it happen down to the smallest detail, in a way that brings surprise and delight to everyone. With her skills in decor, fashion, organising and planning she has all bases covered and we would highly recommend Sharon for your special event.
